Why hire me?
I have gained many skills through my time working with these organizations, including working with page design programs such as InDesign and Quark Copy Desk, utilizing graphic design programs such as Illustrator, taking photographs for both sports and news, and editing articles using Associated Press style. I have also worked with social media to schedule posts on both Twitter and Facebook to promote and share articles and have worked with BLOX CMS software to post articles to the website. Other skills include working on deadline, multitasking, interviewing, developing and maintaining personal and professional relationships, managing staff, learning new responsibilities, and quickly adapting to any situation in which I find myself.
While I have spent a considerable amount of time in journalism, I believe my skills are transferrable to any field in communications. I am an incredible hard-worker, I don't shy away from responsibilities, and I am always eager to accomplish any task set in front of me. I believe my skills gained from journalism and photojournalism - which include copy writing and editing, as well as knowledge of and experience in digital and social media - can translate to fit the needs of any company.
